Jason Davies Sworn In as Rockingham/Safety Bay Ward Councillor

Mayor Lorna Buchan welcomed Cr Davies to Council.

"On behalf of the City of Rockingham, I congratulate Jason on his election and welcome him to Council," Mayor Buchan said.

"Councillors play an important role in representing their communities and helping shape the City's future through informed decision-making.

"I look forward to working with Cr Davies as we continue delivering services, projects and initiatives that benefit our community."

A total of 26.5 per cent of eligible electors cast a vote in the postal Extraordinary Election, which was conducted by the Western Australian Electoral Commission.

Mayor Buchan thanked those who participated in the election process. She also thanked James Mumme and Elaine Smith for nominating for the vacancy and acknowledged the commitment shown by all candidates throughout the election process.”

"Local government is strongest when community members put themselves forward to serve, and I thank all candidates for their willingness to contribute to our community," Mayor Buchan said.

Cr Davies will represent the Rockingham/Safety Bay Ward for the remainder of the current Council term, which concludes at the October 2027 local government elections.
