The Roads Services department within the Council are responsible for the construction and maintenance of roads, drainage and footpaths within the City excluding some major arterial roads that Main Roads WA are responsible for.
Roads Services also attend to problems with:
- Signage (Council owned signage such as pointing to a tourist destination or particular business)
- Assists residents with the construction of crossovers (Council owned area between road and your property) - 9528 0434.
You can report to Council any issues, complaints or reports of road maintenance issues which cover the following:
- Damage
- Footpath problems
- Damaged kerbs
- Flooding
- Minor maintenance requests
- Pot holes
If you have found a road issue you can report it electronically via the Road Maintenance Reporting Form. Alternatively you can contact Council on 9528 8500 or for an emergency call between 4.45pm to 8.00am phone 9528 0333 for our after hours answering and response service.
The activation and repairs of decorative streetlights is a responsibility of the Council. Please contact the Engineering and Parks Services Division on 9528 8500 if you have found a decorative streetlight that is not working property or to submit an electronic Street Light Reporting Form.
Traffic Control Signs and traffic lights are the responsibility of Main Roads WA, so all queries/complaints in relation to these should be directed to 1800 800 009.
Reports of damaged or missing street name signs can be reported to Council via an electronic Street Sign Form or phone 9528 8500.
