Gone Fishing Program

The City of Rockingham's Gone Fishing Program involves connecting a group of Rockingham seniors with a group of enthusiastic young people wanting to learn about fishing.  The benefits for:

  • Young people - learn about the techniques of fishing, enjoy evening fishing sessions in various spots around Rockingham, learn how to cook their catch, and get the opportunity to make new friends and connect with some of the senior members of our community
  • Over 55's - as mentors you get the opportunity to share your knowledge and connect with some of the younger members of the Rockingham community.
Each program involves 20 young people with the program time tabled to run twice a year at the beginning and end of summer, and is advertised in the local press.
