Rockingham’s new Desal Discovery Centre opens its doors for the first time to the public on Saturday, February 25. This coincides with the Rockingham Musselfest, and will be held between 1pm and 5pm. Guided tours of the new Dixon Road attraction at the National Centre of Excellence in Desalination Australia include a 3D movie of the desalination process, a tour of the pilot testing facility and ‘hands-on’ water science performing a desal membrane autopsy in an Edulab. There will also be a taste test challenge to see if locals can tell the difference between desalinated and non-desalinated water.
