City of Rockingham Mayor, Barry Sammels is encouraging locals to register, and to help organise the very first Relay For Life event for Rockingham and Kwinana:
“We are seeking energetic community members to join the organising committee for the very first local event for the Cities of Rockingham and Kwinana.
“The event is set to be held at the Lark Hill Sporting Complex on Saturday 13 and Sunday 14 and 14 of April 2013 at the Lark Hill Sporting Complex. We look forward to your involvement in a future Rockingham Kwinana event.”
Relay For Life is an overnight, community event for thousands of Australians who, relay non-stop as they celebrate cancer survivors, remember those lost, and fight back against the disease by raising important funds.
Every five minutes, another Australian is diagnosed with cancer. While survival rates are improving every day, cancer remains a leading cause of death. Relay For Life brings the whole community together, providing the opportunity to collectively fight back against cancer.
People wanting to get involved in the organisation of this worthwhile event in Rockingham are asked to send their contact details (name, phone number and email) to firstname.lastname@example.org
