On Wednesday 23 February, the City of Rockingham, together with the City of Mandurah hosted more than 70 high level Local Government representatives from Australia and New Zealand at a special cocktail function for the Chief Officers Group.
Launched at the Gary Holland Community Centre from 6pm, the two conference is a unique opportunity for the exchange of ideas, knowledge and information between Chief Executive Officers (CEOs).
City of Rockingham Mayor, Barry Sammels welcomed attendees to the conference and highlighted the importance of sharing ideas for future planning:
“Knowledge sharing at this level is a wonderful asset to support our leadership roles and enrich the communities that we all serve.
“CEOs require a diverse portfolio of skills to be successful, in contemporary Local Government we face constantly shifting challenges and service demands.
“Since 1981, the Local Government Chief Officers’ Group forums have been extremely beneficial, providing opportunities for building relationships and sharing solutions.
“The City is honoured to host these respected guests from around Australia and New Zealand. We hope that delegates enjoy their time here in Rockingham and also in Mandurah.”
The Chief Officers Group meets three times a year in different locations around the country to share skills and management knowledge.
