Council's Travel Donations policy provides financial support to Rockingham residents traveling outside of Western Australia to participate in National or International club or sporting events.

Conducted in May each year, the City of Rockingham acknowledges the outstanding efforts of local sports people, by hosting a Gala Dinner. The National Office of Local Government acknowledged the Sportstar Awards as being a leading practice. ABC Sports presenter, Glenn Mitchell has hosted the awards since 1997, during which time we are proud to have had the continued support of The Sound Telegraph, Toyotaways and Rockingham City Shopping Centre as major sponsors.

The results of the 2007 Sportstar Awards held on Thursday 17th May are as follows;
