Recreation can be a lot of fun so we have listed all the types of recreation activities available and where you can participate in them.

Beaches

The City of Rockingham contains some of the finest coastline and parks in Perth's metropolitan area. This was confirmed in the Year 2000 when Waikiki Beach, Rockingham Beach and Warnbro Beach were awarded "Best", "Most Improved" and "Best Natural" beaches respectively. This makes our beaches and parks attractive for residents, visitors and leisure and tourism operators alike.

You will find the following major beaches around Rockingham:

  • Secret Harbour Beach
  • Golden Bay Beach

Governor Road Beach Access Path

If you require wheelchair access to a beach you are able to utilise direct access from the carpark to the foreshore at the Governor Road Beach. View the photos below for more details:

Special Functions and Weddings

Did you know you are able to utilise Council parks and reserves for your special functions or wedding? The most common reserves used for special events or wedding photos include:

Centennial Park

Location: Charthouse Road, Safety Bay

Features/Facilities:

  • Attractive/colourful landscaping
  • Water feature with waterfall and fountains
  • Semi private areas
  • Large and small gazebo’s
  • Large parking areas
  • Sunken area with some wind protection
  • Sealed walkways through reserve
  • Location reasonably easy to find.

Don Cuthbertson Reserve

Location: Elanora Drive, Woodbridge

Features/Facilities:

  • 2 x Large gazebos
  • Water feature and fountains
  • Limited parking bays (street kerbside parking available)
  • Attractive bridge over water feature
  • Toilet facilities
  • Attractive landscaping
  • Sealed walkways through reserve
  • Location easy to find.
Tuart Park

Features/Facilities:
  • Attractive landscaping with large shaded areas
  • Private areas with good wind protection
  • Attractive water feature
  • Stepped lawn areas around water feature
  • Toilet facilities

  • Location easy to find.
City Park

Location: Leghorn Street, Rockingham

Features/Facilities:
  • Attractive landscaping
  • Semi circle pergola area
  • Water features and fountains
  • Semi private areas
  • Car parking available close to reserve
  • Sealed walkways through reserve
Trusty Park

Should the reserve be available on the requested date/s the appropriate application forms will be forwarded to your above listed address. These forms are required to be completed and returned (3) months prior to the commencement of the event.

Sporting Reserve Hire Fees

If you are a Club requiring grounds to be allocated for your games and training you can find out how much it will cost to book a reserve below:

Seniors (18+) $23.00 per player per season
Juniors (<18) $4.20 per player per season

Casual Hire Fees (Made through a booking to guarantee the oval is yours)
Senior $110.00 per day
Junior $55.00 per day
Schools No charge during normal school
hours
Pre-season $5.50 per hour
Hobby Groups $5.50 per hour
Sporting Reserve Floodlighting Fees

Floodlighting is available if you require it when booking any of the following reserves:

  • Currie Street
  • Anniversary Park
  • Baldivis Oval*
  • Georgetown Reserve*
  • Dixon Road/Dowling Street
  • Singleton Oval*
  • Paul Garnett Reserve*
  • Koorana Oval*
  • Secret Harbour Oval*
  • Shoalwater Oval*

* Training lights only

Floodlighting Rates
$16.00 per hour (half ground/*training)
$32.00 per hour (full ground)


Please note that floodlighting must be booked in conjunction with Council's Ground Allocations.
