Selling vehicles on verges

Owners of vehicles cannot display their vehicles for sale on road or street verges as this practice makes areas unsightly and can obstruct the vision of pedestrians and other road users.

The distraction of other drivers poses a significant road safety concern so therefore rangers may issue an on-the-spot fines for illegal verge sales. Police may also issue fines under the Road Traffic Act 1974 (WA).
